Department Manager
Creating Departments is only accessible to administrators with the highest site permissions.
If you are unable to manage Departments and feel that you are missing this permission, contact our support team at support@imagineeverything.com.
To create a new department, follow these steps:
1. Click the Departments option from within the Settings section of the left navigation menu to access the Department Manager.
| ⓘ | Filtering Departments - The Department Manager contains the ability to filter based on a search term, Department Tags, or the Host Sites of a Department. |
2. Select the button on the top right of the Department Manager to create a new Department.
3. In the Department creation menu, enter the Name, Description, Tags, and one or more Host Sites that will host your new Department, and click Save.
Note: Department Tags are temporarily disabled but will be enabled in a subsequent release
For this example, we will create a Sports Department that will manage content related to different sports activities across this district’s schools. See the full documentation to see how this district is utilizing its Sports Department.
| ⓘ | Departments & Host Sites - Each Department that you create will be hosted by one or more sites within your Content Manager instance. These are known as Host Sites, as they are hosting the content created for a Department. This enables the Department-specific content you create to be shared with the Host Sites that you select during this process. |
| ★ | Feature Improvement: Dynamic Site Tags - The site tags in the site selector will now exclude conflicting sites dynamically. This means that if you select a tag that includes specific sites while another already selected tag does not, the conflicting tag will be automatically deselected. In other words, choosing a tag will ensure that any conflicting tags are excluded to avoid inconsistencies in site selection and filtering. |
